Welcome

Thanks to Lexington for giving Kind Roots another amazing day at the cafe! We will be vending at Lime Kiln tonight for the Love Cannon show and are anticipating a very long night.

We will not be open for Brunch service Sunday August 30, so we can give our hardworking and loyal employees a rest after such a long and strenuous day. We hope you understand and we appreciate your patience.

WELCOME!

SUMMER HOURS:

Sunday 11am -- 3pm-ish

Monday-Saturday 9am -- 3pm

CLOSED WEDNESDAY

In 2014, Virginia Living Magazine rated us best lunch spot in the Shenandoah Valley, and second best vegan/vegetarian restaurant!  We are a small, family owned, half service restaurant that provides a healthy and local alternative to on-the-go dining. Our all-natural menu includes classic deli and diner items with a unique twist, and is diverse enough to cater to all needs.

Kind Roots Café does not use any artificial flavors or preservatives in the preparation of our menu. Most of the menu is prepared in house, including our deli salads, breads, & pastries. We source most of our ingredients locally including beef, sausage, chicken, cheeses, herbs, eggs and many of our seasonal fruits and vegetables. We can also boast that we are one of the few east coast restaurants that source their own free-range chicken & duck eggs from a flock of over 80.

MAP & DIRECTIONS

We are located inside the Rockbridge YMCA at College Square Shopping Center, less than a mile off I-81 (Exit 198) & I-64 (Exit 55), on Route 11 (N Lee Hwy) Northbound.

Take Exit 55 off I-64 for ROUTE 11/LEXINGTON & GOSHEN, and head south toward downtown. Turn left at the second stop light into COLLEGE SQUARE SHOPPING CENTER. The YMCA is located just past Tractor Supply on the left. Look for FLOWER BOXES & PATIO FURNITURE, then enter under the GREEN AWNING.
